On the 8 day, the United States threatened to impose tariffs on US $11 billion worth of EU goods. The European Union also issued a list of US $20 billion worth of goods on 17 th, threatening to impose tariffs.

European Commission member Cecilia Malmstern, who is in charge of trade affairs, said in a statement 17, the EU must defend a fair competition environment for the European aircraft manufacturing industry, but the EU does not want to be tit for tat with the United States.

The statement also explicitly released the wish to resolve the problem through negotiations.

Mar James Thrun said: "if there is no other way to solve this problem, we need to be prepared to take measures.

But I still believe that dialogue should be the ultimate solution for important partners such as the European Union and the United States, especially in resolving this long-term dispute.

The EU is willing to discuss with the United States as long as it does not set the precondition and aims at achieving fair results.

The European Union released a list of products from planes to chemicals and agricultural products on the same day.

The European Union will launch public consultation on the list.

The EU side said that the final amount of tariffs on us products would also be taken into account by WTO's arbitration decision on Boeing subsidy.

The airline countervailing dispute between the United States and the European Union, which focused on Boeing and Airbus Company's two largest aviation giants, has existed for a long time.

In 2004, the United States filed a lawsuit against the WTO, accusing the European Union of providing illegal subsidies to Airbus in various forms, and the European Union subsequently sued WTO for the huge illegal subsidy provided by the US government to Boeing.

In this regard, the WTO has ruled that the United States and the European Union have the problem of providing illegal subsidies to their respective aviation enterprises.

The US government has accused the EU of illegally subsidized Airbus, which has a negative impact on the United States.

On the 8 day, the office of the United States trade representative launched the 301st section of the 1974 trade act, and proposed to impose tariffs on the European Union's US products worth about $11 billion.

European Commission officials later said the EU could take retaliatory measures against the US's illegal subsidy to Boeing.
