An archaize sailing vessel from Spain, following the ancient merchant shipping route of Europe, Asia and the Americas more than 300 years ago, traveled 10500 nautical miles and arrived at the north the Bund pier on the Huangpu river this afternoon.

The modern buildings on every side of Pujiang contrast sharply with the seventeenth Century European style archaize on the river.

The famous archaize sailing ship, which traveled all the way to World Expo, Shanghai, is known as the "Andalusia". It is a faithful replica of the Spanish mast sailing vessel in seventeenth Century. It is 52 meters long and 10.1 meters wide, with four mast close to 40 meters. When it breaks the wind and waves, it can raise 965 square meters of sails.

For more than 300 years since the beginning of seventeenth Century, the sanmast sailing ship has been the main carrier of maritime trade between Spain and Asia, the Americas and the Pacific Islands. Countless sailboats are loaded with goods such as silk, porcelain and spices from Europe, Asia, the Americas and even Oceania, and have been sailing thousands of miles away.

It is understood that the "Andalusia" in Shanghai is designed and built by the Vitoria sailing foundation of Spain.

As the image representative and messenger of the Andalusia region of Spain, the ship started its voyage in Spain in March 21st this year, and has travelled over the Mediterranean Sea, red sea, Gulf of Aden and India ocean for three months. It has stopped in Malta, Israel, Egypt, Sultan, Sri Lanka and Singapore. It has hosted 96000 tourists from all over the world.

It is worth mentioning that most of the nearly 40 sailors who came to China in Andalusia were mostly volunteers who had never had oceanic experience, including four young college students. After a short period of training and nearly 100 days of sailing practice, when sailing arrived in China, they had become skillful and skillful Mariners.

Ms. Maria Tina, Maria Tena, the representative of the Spanish National Pavilion at World Expo, Andalusia, who is on the way to the pier to welcome the arrival of the "Shanghai", said that the arrival of the Spanish antique galleons will not only lead the visitors back to the history of the highly prosperous period of Spain's business pactions in the Atlantic and the Pacific Ocean, but also promote the exchanges between Andalusia and Shanghai in the two important areas of international trade today.

According to her introduction, the "Andalusia" will be docked at the Shanghai international passenger terminal pier in north the Bund until September, and will be open to the designated public.

And from July 26th to August 1st, the Spanish National Pavilion "Andalusia week" period, the ship will also serve as an important symbol of the region, as a platform for cultural exchanges, and play the role of "water embassy".
