China'S Textile And Clothing Exports Fell 11.6% Year-On-Year From January To February (In RMB)

On March 7, the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China released the national trade data of goods from January to February 2023. Affected by the high base last year, sluggish overseas demand, reduced orders and other factors, the textile and clothing exports in the first two months fell 18.5% in dollar terms.

In RMB terms, textile and clothing exports totaled 282.3 billion yuan from January to February 2023, down 11.6% from the same period last year (the same below), including 132.41 billion yuan of textile exports, down 15.9%, and 149.89 billion yuan of clothing exports, down 7.5%.

Exports of textiles and clothing in US dollars: from January to February 2023, the cumulative exports of textiles and clothing will be 40.84 billion US dollars, down 18.5%, of which textile exports will be 19.16 billion US dollars, down 22.4%, and clothing exports will be 21.68 billion US dollars, down 14.7%.

The total value of import and export of goods trade in China is calculated in RMB: from January to February 2023, the total value of import and export of goods trade is 6.17 trillion yuan, a decrease of 0.8% over the same period last year, of which the export is 3.49 trillion yuan, an increase of 0.9%, and the import is 2.68 trillion yuan, a decrease of 2.9%.

The total value of import and export of goods trade in China is calculated in US dollars: from January to February 2023, the total value of import and export of goods trade is 895.72 billion US dollars, down 8.3% compared with the same period last year, of which export is 506.3 billion US dollars, down 6.8%, and import is 389.42 billion US dollars, down 10.2%.
