Jordan'S Clothing Exports Will Grow By 8% In 2019.

According to the Jordanian times, although the domestic sales of clothing in Latin America dropped by nearly 60% in 2018, the European bank for reconstruction and development (EU) said that Jordan's clothing exports continued to grow and will maintain growth.

It is estimated that the export volume of Jordan clothing is about $1 billion 800 million, which is expected to increase by at least 8% this year.

The United States is Jordan's largest export market, with an annual export volume of about US $1 billion 200 million, of which 85% is clothing.

Jordan and the European Union signed the "simplified origin agreement" on 2016, which is valid until 2026.

Jordan uses 70% imported materials to process finished products and exports to the EU, which can be exempt from local products.

This will help Jordan's garment industry increase exports to the EU.

However, Jordan garment industry is still facing a number of challenges, including the lack of qualified labor force, high borrowing costs, and lack of experience in SMEs.

The high proportion of foreign labor force is the most urgent problem. At present, about 75% of the employed workers in Jordan are foreign workers.
