In September 2014, under the strong support and encouragement of Shishi municipal Party committee and municipal government, the Shishi fashion designers association started the preparatory work, and received the strong support and enthusiastic response from China's "Golden Summit" fashion designer Yang Ziming, Ji Wen Bo, Ceng Fengfei and Liu Yiqun, Hong Mei, Hong Jinshan, Liu Yong, Hui Wen long, and other Chinese top ten designers.

Up to now, more than 230 garment designers have applied for membership.

In order to support the development of the association, the government of Shishi has tailored a set of supporting policies for it, and plans to produce a special fund of not less than 10 million yuan a year to carry out its policy work.

In March 2015, with the approval of Shishi Civil Affairs Bureau, the Shishi Fashion Designers Association was agreed to set up.

This is the third Fashion Designer Association established in Fujian after the Fujian Fashion Designers Association and the Xiamen Fashion Designers Association. It is also the first fashion designer association established in county-level cities in China.
