John Chambers (John Chambers)

CISCO

Chief executive officer of Cisco Systems

I usually arrange for a shower in the morning.

plan

This may be a bit unusual, but I can think of everything through this way, especially the important things I want to do on that day.

My work schedule is usually from 7:30 in the morning to 7:00 in the evening.

There will be some buffer time between them, so that I can make adjustments.

When I arrived at the company 15 years ago, I used the classic way of communication.

I will walk around and talk with a group of big or small.

I know who is at the company in the evening.

Now, I can tell you whose car is in the parking lot.

E-mail is really efficient. It allows me to send messages to all people.

But I am a person who likes to use voice to communicate.

Only then can I communicate emotionally.

At the same time, I also want to hear emotional responses.

It's easier for me to listen to important clients if I can hear them.

I leave 40 to 50 phone messages every day on the commute.

Now my main communication tool is video on demand.

We have a small video studio downstairs.

We can record about 10 to 15 tapes in one quarter.

In this way, whether employees or

Customer

You can watch it when you need it.

As for listening to the voice of the staff, I will host a birthday breakfast every month.

Anyone who has a birthday on that month can come and ask me 1 hours and 15 minutes.

There is no director or vice president in the room, so I can master how feasible and infeasible.

Although this is not easy, it is the most enjoyable part of me.

Acquire

information

I like reading abstracts.

Because of dyslexia, I hardly read novels or anything like that.

I like to read fast food articles.

Before each meeting and discussion, I have to read the summary of the loose leaf cover, which contains all the information I need, such as the contents of the speech, the guests and their backgrounds, etc.

Each theme is just two or three pages, which is exactly what I want.

I usually end my day before my wife Elena and go to bed.

I will browse important reports from all over the world and make a brief summary.

Then Elena and I would have a chat before bed.

My wife and I have been dating for 7 years and have been married for 33 years.

She knows my strengths and weaknesses well.

We always make decisions together.

For me, my family is the most important.
