The 50Th Anniversary Celebration Of The Institute Of Art Of The Soviet Union

The art school of Soochow University, which has a long history, greeted her 50 birthday today. Teachers and alumni of the college gathered to celebrate this special festival.

The predecessor of the school of art of Soochow University was the Department of Arts and crafts, Suzhou Silk Institute, founded in 1960.

It has trained the first generation of postgraduate and undergraduate students of fashion design for our country to fill the gap of domestic clothing education.

Famous designers Wang Xinyuan and Zhao Weiguo graduated from the college.

At present, the Institute of art has 8 teaching units and 9 professional directions, including the fine arts department, the dyeing and weaving art department, the clothing art department and so on. The art design specialty is the first batch of national art education personnel training mode approved by the Ministry of education, the innovative practice zone and the Jiangsu characteristic specialty.

At today's celebration, the teachers and students of the college also composed and directed themselves to perform a wonderful performance. Fashion shows, folk music ensembles and other unique forms show teachers and students' reminiscences of college history and their vision for the future.
